SCOTS SHIPOWNER'S FATAL SEIZURE Sir George Peat, who, for the greater part of the war, had been deputy director of the Liner Division at the Ministry of Transport, died suddenly while visiting a friend at a London hotel. He was 52. His friend was seeing him off at the end of a visit when Sir George had a heart attack in the entrance of the hotel and died almost immediately. Well-known in Glasgow, he was a partner in the shipping firm of P. Henderson & Co. For many years he was with the Clan Line, and became their manager Liverpool.
