Glover Brothers of Mossley, near Manchester.

1922 Maker of steel wire ropes and guide rods for mining, wire ropes for shipping and general purposes aerial ropeways and aeroplane cables. Partners: Robert B. Glover and B. Harvey Glover.

1937 Makers of steel wire ropes, aeroplane cables and flexible cords.

1953 Arthur Lee and Sons acquired an interest in the company which was an important market for them[1].

1954 Arthur Lee and Sons continued a fruitful association with Glover Brothers (Mossley) Ltd

1958 Transferred to new company Arthur Lee Investments formed to hold trade investments in order to mitigate the effects of any possible renationalisation of the steel industry[2]

Presumably later became Glover Group, maker of aerial ropeways and mechanical handling systems

1976 Acquired by Capper-Neill[3]


NB this is not the same as the fruit trader and importer of London with similar name.
