1840 Established by William Haste.

1884 Partnership change. '... the Partnership between William Haste and William Brown, in the trade or business of Tanners and Curriers, for some time carried on by them at Hough End Tannery, Bramley, near Leeds, in the county of York, under the firm of Haste and Brown, in consequence of the death of the said William Haste was determined on the 22nd day of November, 1883. The said trade or business has been since that date, and will continue to be, carried on under the same firm of Haste and Brown, solely by the said William Brown on his own account...'[1]

1908 Incorporated as a limited company.

Specialities: East India tanned kips curried and japanned into light leathers, suitable for boot uppers, leggings, etc.

1910 In liquidation.[2]

The Hough End Tannery was later the premises of S. Gibson and Sons
