HERBERT BEYNON was born on 26th August 1873, and was educated at the Liverpool Institute.

He was originally trained as an accountant, but in 1890 joined his father's yacht and launch building works.

On the death of his father two years later he occupied positions as accountant with several firms, until in 1898 he joined Messrs. H. J. West and Co., Ltd., Refrigerating Engineers, London.

In 1909 he entered into partnership with Mr. Ernest West, and until his death on the 9th July 1926, was engaged in the manufacture of refrigerating machinery. During this time he was jointly responsible for the installation of refrigerating plant for a very large number of important concerns.

Mr. Beynon became an Associate Member of this Institution in 1912 and a Member in 1918.
