1865 Renamed as Claudet, Houghton & Son

1903 Incorporated as George Houghton & Son, Ltd.

1904 the firm became known as Houghtons Limited.

1914 Chairman, George Houghton. Mr. A. Claudet was the first to introduce Daguerrotype as Professional Photography into England. Business: Manufacture of Cameras, - in which the firm are also dealers, Photographic Materials of all kinds, Optical, Scientific, Surveying and Nautical Instruments.

1941 Houghtons (Holborn) Ltd was incorporated[1]

1953 Acquired Johnsons of Hendon Ltd. The name of the group was changed to Johnsons of Hendon
