The Dock Company Co have at present seven docks, the first of which was opened in

1778 The first dock was opened

Sir William Wright - the Dock in Hull was named after the Chairman of the company

1880 The Hull Dock company opened its 7th dock. The graving dock, the entrance to which is in the William Wright Dock, is capable of taking in the largest ships coming into the port.

1883 Another dock was opened. Another graving dock was constructed, with in No. 2 New West Dock.

1893 Acquired by the North-Eastern Railway

1936 The docks at Hull include the Alexandra, King George, Victoria, Princes, Railway, Humber, Albert, and St. Andrew's Docks.
