1920 Amalgamated Textiles Ltd. formed from the merger of William Morris and Sons, John H. Beaver, and Daniel Illingworth and Sons.[1]
1921 Name changed to Illingworth, Morris and Co.
1923 Acquired - G. H. Leather; John Robertshaw and Co; Globe Worsted Co; and James Tankard.[2]
1941 Trading difficulties. Chairman is Sir J. Donald Horsfall.[3]
1951 The M.D. J. P. Harrop resigns due to ill health. Has been M.D since 1929. Replaced by Frederick C. Naylor. Also elected a director is J. I. J. Bonney from Daniel Illingworth and Sons.[4]
1954 Acquired John Smith (Field Head).[5]
1955 Excellent trading report. Chairman is Lord Wilmot.[6]
1958 Acquired Salts (Saltaire).

1969 Have a controlling interest in Stroud woollen business of Strachan and Playne.[11]
1971 Linking of Illingworth Morris and Co and Woolcombers 'not a merger'. J. Alan Thompson takes control of both.[12]
1975 The majority shareholders for Illingworth, Morris are Isidore Ostrer and Maurice Ostrer. The brothers die within months of each other in 1975.
1975 The M.D. is J. C. Shaw who is also M.D. of Josiah France.[13]
