c.1873 Formation of the institution - presumably the Association of Municipal and Sanitary Engineers and Surveyors

1891 The Association became the Incorporated Association of Municipal and County Engineers

1909 Name changed to the Institution of County and Municipal Engineers; W. Nisbet Blair became president.[1]

1920 The 47th AGM of the Institution of Municipal and County Engineers was held in Dundee. James Thomson became president.

1922 49th AGM held in Cardiff[2]

1925 Institution of Municipal and County Engineers was granted its charter

1927 Edward Wallis was President.[3]

1948 replaced by the Institution of Municipal Engineers
