John Davidson Peattie (c1890-1973)of the British Electricity Authority

1947 'Deputy Chief Engineer the Central Electricity Board for the past three years, Mr J. D. Peattie, a native of Dundee, has been appointed Deputy Chief Engineer (Transmission) by the British Electricity Authority. Mr Peattie is a son of the late Mr David Peattie, jute manufacturer, Dundee. lie was educated at Morgan Academy and University College and won a number of distinctions both at Dundee and at London University. During the 1914-18 war he served in France, Italy and Gallipoli, receiving commission in the Royal Engineers. Mr Peattie held appointments with Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Co., Edmiston, Brown and Co. Ltd., Glasgow, and Manchester Corporation, before joining the Electricity Board. He served for 15 years as operation engineer at their head office before becoming deputy chief engineer. His wife is a daughter of Sir William Walker, who was Lord Mayor of Manchester in 1932.'[1]

1955 Appointed Chief Engineer when V. A. Pask retires.[2]
