  • 2 years Mechanical Electrical Course, Crystal Palace Eng. School.
  • 1 years apprenticeship, Essen's Printing Engineers, Ltd.
  • 4 years Engineering Student, Vickers Maxims, Barrow.
  • 2 years Engineer and Draughtsman, Wallsend Slipway engaged on design of reciprocating engines, and turbines for "Mauretania";
  • Turbine Draughtsman and ultimately Chief Turbine Designer at Willans and Robinson's.

1910 With Leslie Hampton Robinson designed and constructed the Chittenden-Robinson (CR) monoplane and biplane.

1928 Awarded Paris Premium, I.E.E.
