1878-1881 Apprentice at Elswick Ordnance Works

Developed experience with electrical lighting and electric machinery.

1881 of Elswick Ordnance Works became an Associate member of the Society of Telegraph Engineers and Electricians[1]

1881 Went to Paris as 2nd electrical engineer for the Swan Electrical Light Co

1882 Engineer to the Metropolitan Brush Co

1882-89 Engineer to the National Secondary Generator Co when that company lighted the Metropolitan Railway from Aldgate to Notting Hill Gate

1884 Went into business for himself

Went into partnership with R. Brougham as consulting engineers. They carried out the installation at Grosvenor Gallery Cenrtal Electric Lighting Station.

1884 Became an Associate Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers

1886 Became a member of the Institution of Electrical Engineers

1911 Sir James Kenneth Daughter Mackenzie (Baronet) 51, civil engineer, lived in Lewisham with Stephanie C Mackenzie 39, Lewis R K Mackenzie 8, Corinne M Mackenzie 20[2]

1930 Died in Edenbridge, Kent
