1823 Advert: 'The Partnership between James Richards and John Hopkins, of Birmingham, in the county of Warwick, Metallic Hot-house Manufacturers, was dissolved on the 17th instant by mutual consent. All persons indebted to the said partnership are required to pay their respective debts to the said James Richards, who is duly authorised to receive the same, and by whom all debts due therefrom will be discharged in due course.— The trade will in future be carried on by James Richards and Co,:— Witness our hands this 27th day of June, 1823, Witness, Jos. 1823 Advert: 'By his Majesty's Royal Letters Patent. JAMES RICHARDS and Co. beg leave to inform the Nobility, Gentry, and their Friends, that they have obtained his Majesty's Patent for improvements in glazing and erecting every description of Horticultural Buildings, Hot-houses. Vineries, Peach. houses, Hand Glasses, Sash, Sky, and Fan-lights. One grand object completed is the expanding glass squares which will totally prevent breakage by frost. The whole manufactured upon terms much under those usually charged. Every article warranted, and the most respectable references given for the completion of any contract they may be favoured with. Specimens of their improvements to ha seen at the Manufactory, Caroline-street, Birmingham, October 8, 1823.'[2]
1824 Advert: 'NOTICE is hereby given, that the Partnership between the undersigned Metallic Hothouse-makers, carried on at Birmingham in the firm "James Richards and Co." was this day dissolved by mutual consent. Witness our bands the 6th day of October, 1824,
