1891 Living at Tudor Hill, Sutton Coldfield: Joel Cadbury (age 53 born Birmingham), Button Manufacturer. With his wife Maria, one son and one daughter.[1]

1916 Died. 'Mr. Joel Cadbury died under tragic circumstances at the Midland station, Sutton Coldfield, to-day. He had been unwell, and left home with a manservant, and at the down waiting-hall he expired. Deceased was chairman of the Birmingham Dairy Company, Birmingham Coffee House Company, and Cadbury (Limited), button makers, of Great Hampton-street, as well chairman or treasurer of many public charities.'[2]
