Previously Wickman Machine Tools.

1982 Webster Bennett was part of John Brown Machine Tools[1]

1982 56% of the divisions products were sold overseas.[2]

1984 John Brown and Co sold the Coventry-based machine tool operations of Wickman Ltd and Webster and Bennett to a consortium headed by Ketlon Ltd who renamed the business Wickman Bennett. The Halifax-based machine tools business was sold to James H. Vickery[3] [4]

1986 John Brown Automation was developed as a company in its own right.[5]
