John Carline (1792-1862)

From Graces Guide

John Carline (1792-1862)

Born the son of John Carline (1758-1834) and grandson of John Carline (1730-1793)

1861 Living at Church Park, Oystermouth: John Carline (age 68 born Shrewsbury), Architect and unmarried. In the house of David Grey and family.[1]

1862 Died. 'In our obituary of to-day we have record death of an old and valued townsman, Mr. John Carline. His beautiful works in stone may be seen in the restoration which took place some years ago in the Abbey, St. Julian’s, St. Mary’s, and the Old Market Hall, in this town, whilst the more extensive works in the restorations of Hereford Cathedral record his ability and taste, and will carry down his name to future years with esteem, when those who now offer to his memory this tribute of respect are gone.'[2]
