1832 Born in Warrington son of Joseph Crosfield and his wife Elizabeth[1]

1875 After the death of his brother, Morland, and the movement of another brother, George, to London, John became solely responsible for Joseph Crosfield and Sons.

1881 Became chairman of Brunner, Mond and Co, alkali manufacturers. Crosfields were their largest customer.

1901 died in Walton Superior, Cheshire[2]
