John Debenham (1829-1866)

1820 William Debenham married Caroline Freebody in London[1].

1829 John was born son of William Debenham, a silk maker, and his wife Caroline[2]

1863 William died; the same year, Clark and Debenham, silk mercrers, was renamed Debenham and Freebody, which grew into a chain of department stores.

1866 January 11th. John Debenham C.E. died at sea in the SS London, with his wife Emily Jane of Sydney, Australia and late of Portsdown Road, Maida Hill.

Memorial at Kensal Green Cemetery states age 36 years
