1871 Residing at The Hestrells, Rodborough: John Edward Barnard (age 45 born Minchinhampton), Woollen Cloth Manufacturer employing 156 hands. With his wife Mary, three daughters and two sons. Also his sister.[1]

1881 Residing at 70 Fairbridge Road, Islington: John Edward Barnard (age 55 born Minchinhampton), Retired Woollen Manufacturer. With his wife Mary, three daughters and two sons.[2]

1901 Died, of 52 Craster Road, Brixton Hill, a retired wool manufacturer, age 75.[3]
