Born the son of Thomas Branson, a Solicitor.

1868 Married at Sheffield to Elizabeth Merrill

1894 Died. 'We announce to-day the death of Mr. John Hugh Branson, who for 30 years has carried on business as an iron, steel, and mineral merchant at 30, Change alley. Deceased, although he took no part in public life, was one of the best known men in Sheffield, and a popular member of the Sheffield Club. The death occurred at Mr. Branson’s residence in Taptonville road. '[1]
