1790 Born in Redruth, son of William Murdock

1801 William Murdock sent his two sons William and John to the Ayr Academy, for the benefit of Scotch education.[1]

1851 Landed proprietor[2]

1861 John Murdock 71, living on independent means in Handswoth with Mary An. Walton 47, his Niece, and Emily M Walton 25 Great Niece[3]

1862 Died[4] at Sycamore Hill, Handsworth. One of his executors was his grand nephew William Mallabey Murdock[5].
