1826 Married at Bristol to Mary Elizabeth Cooke (1804-1878)

1851 Residing at 9 Catherine Street, Bristol: John Perry (age 50 born Bristol), Coach Builder employing 88 men. with his wife Mary, four sons and three daughters.[1]

1861 Residing at Cotham Hill, Bristol: John Perry (age 60 born Bristol), Carriage Manufacturer. With his wife Mary E., three daughters and one son.[2]

1879 April 02nd. Died. 'the late chairman (Mr John Perry), who died on the 2nd April last, was elected a director of the company 1863, and became chairman on the retirement Dr. Carne in 1877.'[3]

1879 Obituary. 'The death is announced of Mr. J. Perry, of Bristol, as chairman of the Taff Vale Railway Company and the Bristol and South Wales Wagon Company; he showed great tact, urbanity of manner, and common sense.'[4]
