John William Hunt (c1844-1925) of the Chillington Tool Co

1925 Obituary [1]

I much regret to have to record the passing of Mr. John William Hunt, the founder of the Chillington Tool Company, Ltd., Wolverhampton, who died on the 10th inst., at his home, Maycroft, Ash Hill, Compton, in his eighty-second year.

Mr. Hunt founded the Chillington Tool Company, Ltd., in 1892, and was chairman of directors from that time until his retirement from business three years ago. Under his direction the works grew steadily, until at the time he relinquished control it found employment for nearly 1000 people.

He was held in high esteem in Midland industrial circles.
