Johnson and Smith (of Coventry)

1912 George Johnson, and Albert Edward Smith left the Coventry Aero and Marine Engine Co of Coventry[1]. Presumably they went on to set up this engine company.

1913 Offered a new four-cylinder water-cooled engine of their own manufacture

1916 Dissolution of the Partnership between George Johnson and Albert Edward Smith, carrying on business as Engine Specialists and Motor Engineers, at East Street Works, East-street, in the city of Coventry, under the style or firm of JOHNSON AND SMITH. The business will be carried on by the said George Johnson alone[2]

1917 Private company incorporated as Johnson and Smith Ltd., to acquire an old established engine manufacturing company of that name[3].

1919 Name changed to Coventry Climax Engines. Company acquired by Henry Pelham Lee
