Joshua Murgatroyd (c1813-1874) of Emmerson, Murgatroyd and Co and the Norton Iron Co

He was a director of the Norton Iron Company, formed to take over the business formerly carried out by Warners, Lucas and Barrett of Norton, Stockton-on-Tees.[1]

1871 Living at 192 Wellington Road, Heaton Norris: Joshua Murgatroyd (age 38 born Huddersfield), Mechanical Engineer. With his wife Mary, sons George L. Murgatroyd (age 20 born Manchester), Articled Mechanical Engineer, and Joshua Murgatroyd (age 19 born Manchester), Student, and a daughter.[2]
