1912 The Port of London Authority let a contract to S. Pearson and Co to construct a large new dock to the south of the Royal Albert Dock.
1918 The Port of London Authority secured resources to complete the stalled building work on the new Dock.
1921 King George V opened the Dock, also described as an extension of the Royal Albert Dock[1], making the Royal Docks complex the largest in the world.
