1867 Awarded a gold medal at the 1867 Paris Exposition for a horizontal steam engine.

Paul Le Gavrian took out the the first licence in France to build Corliss engines. He sold his company in 1881 to his principal engineer Victor Brasseur, who entrusted its management in 1891 to his sons-in-law Charles and Jean Crépelle, assisted by Nazaire Garand. The company became Jean Crépelle et Cie.
