1896 The company was registered November 21, to acquire the business of leather merchants, boot manufacturers, &c., carried on by Messrs. Lennard Brothers.

1909 Lennards had 130 shops

1914 Lennards Ltd. Established over a quarter of a century. Directors: Thomas J. Lennard, J.P. (Chairman and Managing Director), J. Wallis Goddard, J. G. Chattaway, Robert Walker, Thomas Singlehurst. Secretary: J. E. Hazzledine. Premises: Headquarters Building one of the finest and largest in the West of England. Branches: Nearly 200 Shops throughout England and Wales. Speciality: Boots and Shoes for everyone.

1926 29th AGM. 'The twenty-ninth annual meeting of the shareholders of Lennards Limited was held on the 9th inst. at the headquarters of the Company, Queen's Road, Bristol. The President (Sir Thomas J. Lennard. J.P.), was in the chair, and among those present were Mr Percy Steadman, J.P. (the new chairman), Lt.-Col. E. W. Lennard (the new managing director), Messrs J. W. Goddard, J. G Chattaway, T. Singlehurst, J. E. Hazzledine, W. W. Dixon, M. Durant, A. J. Morrish, J. A. Clapham, E. Andrews, and A. Vann.[1]

1953 'Widnes has been selected by Lennards Ltd., as the for a repair factory to perm South Lancashire, including Warrington and Runcorn. At 114 Victoria Road reconstruction work has been carried and the premises converted into an up-to-date factory for shoe is pairs. Machinery of the most modern and efficient type has been installed and skilled personnel have been selected locally and are being further trained in a central repair factory at Bristol. The people of Widnes and district Will be able to enjoy an on-the-spot service. Repairs can be handed in at any Lennard shop as well as at the receiving depot attached to the factory.'[2]
