1869 Announce they are in contact with makers in Paris, New York and elsewhere about the best available types. Mentions Mr. Hulley and the chief instructor John Shepherd. P. B. Drinkwater is Chairman, Mr Caw is secretary and also mentions Mr De Wolf. Mentions bicycles made by H. Brown and Co [2] [3] [4]
1869 March. Velocipede race held. Five competitors raced eight miles in the streets of the city and it was won by Mr. Browne in 44 minutes. [5]
1869 March. Two members, A. S. Pearson and J. M. Caw, cycled from Liverpool to London in three and a bit days. The longest cycle tour then completed. [6]
1869 March. Henry Eaton travels from Liverpool to Macclesfield, a distance of 40 miles, in five hours including stops of 40 minutes. [7]
