Merseyside Transport Limited of Liverpool

MTL Trust Holdings was an English bus, coach and train operator based in Liverpool.

MTL was originally part of the Merseyside Passenger Transport Executive.

1985 To comply with the Transport Act 1985, the bus operations were divested into a new independent company, Merseyside Transport Limited (MTL). Merseyside Passenger Transport Authority retained a shareholding

1993 the company was purchased by its management and staff

1995 MTL was one of seven companies that accounted for approximately 60 per cent of the UK bus travel market. [1]

2000 MTL was purchased by Arriva.
