Marling and Evans

1920 Company incorporated. The company has been formed for the purpose of taking over as going concerns, amalgamating, and developing two cloth manufactories in the West country - Marling and Co, Limited, of Stanley Mill and Ebley Mill, Stroud, Gloucester, established in 1792, and P. C. Evans and Sons, Limited, of Mill and Port Mill, Brimscombe, established in 1855.[1]

1968 Name changed to Marling Industries Ltd

1982 re-registered as plc

1988 Acquired the 80 percent of Boalloy Engineering and 93 percent of Collingwood Fabrics that it did not already own.

1988 Marling and Evans, Ltd, Stanley Mills, Stonehouse.[2]

Became a major supplier of webbing for seat belts and other high performance industrial fabrics.
