1954 McDowell, Inc., of Cleveland, an international construction and engineering firm, acquired Wellman Engineering Co, also of Cleveland; this enabled McDowells to achieve its goal of erecting turnkey plants for basic industries.
1963 The companies were merged as the McDowell-Wellman Engineering Company, with headquarters in the Vulcan Building at 113 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland.
