1900 The company was registered on 5 February, to acquire the business of Mail, Macfarlane and Co and the undertaking of the Middle Docks Co. [1]

1913 Once the business of J. T. Eltringham and Co was transferred to Willington, their former yard at South Shields would be taken over by the company whose premises were adjacent; plans for a graving dock were under consideration.[2]

1914 Listed as Ship Builders. [3]

1959 Private company.

1961 Engineers and repairers of hulls, machinery and boilers of all types of Naval and merchant shipping. 1,100 employees. [4]
