1906 First Meco closed-circuit breathing apparatus for mine rescue was made[1]

1909 Private company founded in Sheffield.

1911 Awarded a silver medal by the Society of Arts for the Meco compressed-oxygen system for breathing in noxious atmospheres[2]

1925 Purchased several acres of land at Worcester and erected works there to cope with the expansion of the business. Transferred the business to Worcester.[3]

1929 Introduced the Meco E.22 Electric Shaker Conveyor

1961 Mining machinery manufacturers. 650 employees. [4]

1968 Dowty acquired Higgins Boughton Industries and its principal subsidiary Mining Engineering Co (Meco) of Worcester[5].
