Munro's Shipbuilding, Repairing and Engineering Co

From Graces Guide

Craigard Road, Oban

1920 Munro's Shipbuilding, Repairing and Engineering Company Limited was incorporated as a private company, with capital of £50,000, to take over the business of the shipbuilding and repairing yard on the island of Kerrera, at Oban, hitherto carried on by John Munro Limited, and its ancillary businesses.[1] The company built a number of motor yachts.

1926 On the 4th of May the company resolved to go into voluntary liquidation.[2] It was announced that a Glasgow company had bought the works with the intention of expanding and modernising them. Two large slipways were to be constructed for the docking and repairing of yachts, steamers and fishing craft up to 500 tons, and it was also intended to build vessels of these types.[3]
