The UK office of the US-based company was at Victoria Street, London.
Established in 1845 as Niles & Co, by brothers James and Jonathan Niles. In 1869 they sold the firm to James W.Gaff, Alexander Gordon and George A. Gray, who renamed the business Niles Tool Works. The company moved to Hamilton, Ohio in 1873 and specialised in machine tools. They incorporated in 1873. Gray left in 1877 to form the G. A. Gray Co. In 1899 the Niles Tool Works merged into the Niles-Bement-Pond Co.[1]
