1924 Appointed Chairman and Joint Managing Director of Newton and Bennett, Ltd., Manchester & London.

1945 Formed Newton (Motor) Products Ltd. to manufacture the Newton Clutch Plate

1946 Formed Power Jacks Ltd. to make various hydraulic apparatus including the Newton "Hydratruck."

1959 Chairman and Joint Managing Director, Newton and Bennett Ltd.; Chairman, Power Jacks Ltd.; Director, Alford and Alder (Engineers), Ltd., and Alforder Newton, Ltd.
