Norbrit-Pickering







of Wishaw, builders of railway wagons and large fabrications.
Formed by R. Y. Pickering and Co, Wishaw combining with North British Electric Welding Co of Coatbridge, Lanarkshire.
Norbrit Pickering were also involved in the manufacture of large fabrications for use in machine tools mainly for Hugh Smith and Co of Glasgow.
Approx. 20 tankers were built of 100 ton capacity for a company called Procor. They were fitted with Schlieren (Swiss) bogies which Norbrit Pickering built under licence from them. They were built in 1972/1973. [1]
