1962 Northgate Group, industrial holding company, acquired Canadian and English Stores[1] in a reverse take-over. Northgate changed its name to Northgate and English Stores; S. R. Hogg was chairman. Acquired 6 further stores even before the deal was complete.[2]

1965 ICI would buy 20 percent stake in the enlarged share capital of the Northgate Group.[3], the warp knitting and other manufacturing activities of the group[4]

1966 Split out of Northgate and English Stores.[5]

1968 Courtaulds acquired Northgate Group[6]

1975 With some 8,000 employees, Northgate Group was one of the largest garment manufacturers in the U.K.[7]
