OSWALD HEALING was born on the 17th October 1874, and died on the 19th November 1944.

He was educated privately and in 1892 joined the staff of the late Mr. George Corderoy, Quantity Surveyor of Westminster, whose firm acted on behalf of the Admiralty at naval bases at home and abroad; for the Port of London Authority on the King George V dock, North Woolwich, and the lock and dry dock at Tilbury; for the Southern Railway at the train-ferry dock, Dover; and for other public bodies in connection with important civil engineering works.
