1856 A brief article in The Practical Mechanic's Journal included illustrations and a description of an oscillating marine engine made by the firm for the Shoulhaven Steam Navigation Co's vessel Nowra. Machinery included a lathe by Thomas Shanks and Co, capable of boring cylinders up to 60" bore.[1]
