Palitoy

Trade name of Cascelloid

Palitoy manufactured some of the most popular toys in Britain, some original items and others under licence. Its products included Action Man, Action Force, Tiny Tears, Pippa, Tressy, Star Wars figures and the Care Bears.

1935 The word Palitoy (based on the company founder's name Alfred Edward Pallett) was created as a trademark for the toy division of Cascelloid

1941 Injection moulding was developed and used for the toy ranges.

1968 Palitoy was sold to General Mills in 1968

1978 Took over Chad Valley Co

1980 Palitoy, Denys Fisher, and Chad Valley Co broke away from General Mills.

1984 It closed as a business

The factory, toy moulds and copyrights were all bought by Hasbro from whom they had been a major licensee.
