Percival Lane Power Station

1918 The Mersey Power Co decided to meet the expanding demand for electricity by building a large generating station at Percival Lane, Runcorn.
1921 The station was brought into operation.
1928 Selected under the North-West England and North Wales Electricity Scheme[1]
By 1934 three 12.5 MW turbo-alternators were in use, supplied from seven Babcock and Wilcox boilers with chain-grate mechanical stokers.
1950 A 12.5 MW turbo-alternator was moved to Wallasey Power Station
1960s The Percival Lane power station closed in the late 1960s.
