From Graces Guide

1896 Wallasey Urban District Council were granted a license to supply electricity.

1897 The power station first supplied electricity on 1 February. It had capacity of 150kW.

1898 a further 1,200 kW was ready for installation, and 1,300 kW of generation capacity was on order.

1913 the Wallasey electricity committee noted that the demand for power was greater than the supply available. It proposed that a power station should be built in Limekiln Lane, Poulton.

Post-WWI New plant was installed:

  • 5 MW in 1923
  • 5 MW in 1925
