1871 Born in Prestwich, Manchester

1881 Living with his family in Altrincham[1]

1891 A mechanic, living with his family in Burnage, Lancs[2]

1894 Bankrupt.[3]

1901 A hydraulic engineer, working on his own account, lived with his parents in Halifax[4]

1901 'Mr. P. Pitman of Halifax' supplied a 3ft diameter Pelton wheel, with two nozzles, to the Tamer(? Tarvin?) Waterworks, Chester. It was combined with a steam engine to drive a dynamo for lighting.[5]

Moved with his family to Bosbury, Ledbury.

1907 Married Ethel Marian Norton in Cropthorne, Pershore

1911 Percy Hector Pitman 40, Hydraulic Engineer and Designer Of Water Wheels, lived in Acton with Ethel Marian Pitman 26, Helen Marian Pitman 2, Florence Ethel Pitman 1[6]

1926 Granted US Patent No. 1,608,565 for a needle valve and flow deflector which to control the speed of jet-impelled water wheels.

1939 Ethel Pitman was a widow living in Cuckfield[7]

1961 Percy Pitman died at Wood Green, Middlesex.
