Percy Salmon (1879- ) of the Salmon Motor Co

1879 July 8th. Born at Leytonstone, the son of Joseph Salmon, Bookseller, stationer and printer, and his wife Elizabeth

1891 Living at 85 London Road, Sevenoaks: Joseph Salmon (age 46 born St Georges East, Middlesex), Bookseller, Stationer and Printer - Employer. With his wife Elizabeth S. Salmon (age 47 born Stepney) and their children; Elizabeth M. Salmon (age 23 born Hackney); Joseph Salmon (age 22 born Hackney), Bookkeeper and assisting shop; , Bookseller and stationers Assistant; Edith L. Salmon (age 13 born Leyton); Percy Salmon (age 11 born Leyton); and Mabel E. Salmon (age 8 born Sevenoaks). Two servants.[1]

1902-10 Employed by the Ryknield Motor Co

1904 Married at St. Leonards-on-Sea to May Wordley. 'At St. Leonards Congregational Church, by the Rev. C. New, Percy Salmon, of Burton-on-Trent, youngest son of Mr. Joseph Salmon, of 15 Clyde Road, St. Leonards-on-Sea, to May, only daughter of Mr. Frederic Wordley, also of Clyde Road, St. Leonards.'[2]

1910-14 Formed and managed the Salmon Motor Co

1911 Living at 40 Lichfield Street, Burton-on-Trent: Percy Salmon (age 31 born Leytonstone), Motor Engineer - Motor Car Manufacture; and Employer. With his wife Mary Maria Salmon (age 28 born St. Leonards-on-Sea) and their two children; Ronald Percy Salmon (age 6 born Burton-on-Trent); and Nancie Noreen Salmon (age 2 born Burton-on-Trent). One servant.[3]

1915-16 Employed by Baguley Cars

1916 Assistant Engineer Designer on joining the Royal Aircraft Establishment; later became Head of Design and Inspection[4]

1939 Death of his wife.[5]

1945 Attended the funeral of his father.[6]
