1968 Acquired Kerry Group; name changed to Quinton Hazell (Holdings) Ltd[3]

1969 Sold Kerry Machine Tools to Rogers and Jackson, part of the Owen Engineering Group[4]

1969 Acquired 2 companies from Cope Allman and Co

1971 Purchased an empty factory at Redditch, previously owned by BSA, which would provide double the capacity of the Colwyn Bay plant, in order to take advantage of opportunities expected from joining the Common Market[5]; also acquired several small distribution companies.

1972 Based in Leamington Spa; acquired a factory in Preston to make vehicle exhausts; expansion into the DIY trade[6]

1972 Taken-over by Burmah Oil Co after boardroom split and a higher offer[7]

1982 Burmah announced its intention to sell the company[8]

1985 Some parts of Quinton Hazell had been sold[9]

1986 Quinton Hazell had been sold[10] to a management buyout which was renamed Partco
