1851 Living at Fawley Court Farm, Henley-on-Thames: Richard Burniston (age 20 born Crieff, Perth, Scotland), Bailiff of 668 acres employing 24 labourers.[1].

1859 Re Steam Plough. 'Mr. Richard Burniston, Fawley Court Farm, Henley-on-Thames, writes:— "We have ploughed 110 acres of clover ley and wheat stubble from six to seven inches deep, at a cost not exceeding 7s. per acre, and with men and boys that had no previous knowledge of the working of the apparatus. We will be able to dispense with ten horses now that we have got the steam ploughing apparatus, reserving 14 others for the working of the farm, which is 1,000 acres in extent."'[2]

1871 Living at Fawley Court Farm, Henley-on-Thames: Richard Burniston (age 29 born Scotland), Land Steward of 876 acres employing 32 men and 18 boys. Single. With his sister.[3]
