ROBERT STODDART commenced his career as a constructional engineer in the drawing office of Messrs. Richardson, Westgarth and Company, at the same time attending evening classes at the West Hartlepool Technical College.
Later he entered the employ of Messrs. Bell Brothers of Durham, and in 1920 entered the electricity department of Sunderland Corporation.
In 1923 he went to Northwich, Cheshire, having obtained an appointment with Messrs. Brunner, Mond and Company.
He was run over and fatally injured by a motor omnibus on 13th October 1927.
He became an Associate Member of the Institution in 1920 and was 34 years of age at the time of his death.
