Agricultural engine A9 Single 12-ton, 5nhp. 1918. No. 52266.

The Corn Maiden was built in 1918 for the war office, but was never used. It was bought in 1920 by Charles James of Pen y Parc, Heredfordshire in a sale at Slough. Charles James used this engine for threshing until 1952. In 1976 the fire box was condemned, but since then it has been completely restored.
