c.1870 Samuel Gluckstein formed a partnership with his two sons Isidore Gluckstein and Montague Gluckstein. They were also joined by Barnett Salmon, a tobacco salesman, who later became Samuel's son-in-law by marrying Helena Gluckstein.

1895 The company was registered on 11 March, to take over the business of tobacco manufacturers and tobacconists of the firm of the same name. [1]

1901 Salmon and Gluckstein Ltd was the world's largest retail tobacconist, owning 140 retail outlets

1902 Acquired by the Imperial Tobacco Co
